FAQ

Why do we offer this service?

Recovery Health Network (RHN) is concerned about the rising costs of healthcare affecting over 50 million people in America. RHN offers FREE access to savings of up to 43% off prescriptions. If you fall into any of these categories, the RHN discount program is extremely beneficial to you:

Uninsured

If you don’t have health insurance, the RHN program gives you free access to savings on prescriptions and tests that can save your life.

Underinsured

If your current insurance doesn’t cover certain prescriptions or tests, use the RHN card to access those discounted medications and testing services.

High Deductible

You can use the RHN card to save on out-of-pocket costs until you’ve reached your deductible threshold.

Medicare Doughnut Hole

Use the RHN card to maximize your savings during this difficult period when you are left without Medicare Part D coverage.

What is a prescription savings card?

Prescription savings cards (also known as “consumer cards”, “point of sale cards” and “100% co-pay cards”) allow prescription medication users to save money on their prescription medications. At the time of purchase, cardholders simply present their RHN card at a participating pharmacy to instantly receive savings on their medications.

How do prescription savings cards work?

When the RHN card information (RxGroup# and RxBin#) is entered into the pharmacy’s computer system, the price on the prescription is discounted based on the pharmacy’s agreement with RHN. This type of cutting-edge technology allows for a seamless transaction process.

What is the cost of this program?

There is no cost to this program. The RHN card provides free access to savings of up to 43% off the typical price of prescription medications.

I am not a U.S. Citizen, can I use the card?

Everyone may use the card if it is used at any of the 68,000 participating pharmacies in our network in the US or Puerto Rico, or if the prescriptions are purchased through our mail order system.

I already have insurance or Medicare that covers my prescription medications. How can the RHN card benefit me?

This program can be used to obtain savings on prescription medications that are excluded by your insurance plan or are not covered because you have exceeded your insurance plan’s maximum limits. In some instances, you might find that the RHN program price is lower than your insurance plan’s co-payment amount. (For instance, if your insurance plan generic co-payment is $30.00 and your generic medication through the RHN program is $18.00, you would use the RHN card instead of your insurance card. Please keep in mind you can not use your insurance card and RHN card at the same time. You need to choose one or the other when you leave your prescription at the pharmacy). In addition, if your plan does not offer you a prescription card and you are reimbursed after each transaction, you may be able to use the card to lower your out-of-pocket expenses. Contact your insurance provider to see if they accept paper claims. If they do accept paper claims, then you may submit the claim to your insurance carrier and apply the credit towards your deductible.

What prescription medications are covered under the RHN program?

Any physician’s prescription is covered.

Are there any age or enrollment restrictions?

No, everyone can use the RHN card and benefit from the plan. There is no enrollment fee or activation fee. Your card is ready to use as soon as you print it.

Does my physician need to know about this card when writing my prescription?

No. This program will not affect the way you are cared for by your physician. You should, however, always consult with your physician about saving money on prescription medications. You should tell your physician about the program so he can help his other patients that do not have insurance.

What does receiving the “lowest” or “best” price on my prescriptions mean?

It means that even if a pharmacy’s typical price is less than our negotiated price, you will receive the lesser of the two prices. You will never pay more than the lowest price with our card.

What if my pharmacist said the card would not save me any money?

As a RHN cardholder, you are entitled to your benefit. Your pharmacist will not know what the card savings will be until the prescription is sent for pricing via the pharmacy’s computer. Please report any concerns to our customer service department at 1-800-808-1213.

Can I use this card with my current insurance towards my deductible?
